January 15th, 2018 ~ BR Joe Felix, Master Mason Degree!
Proving that Brothers from MM56 take their labors seriously, we raised BR Joe Felix to that Sublime Degree on MLK day!
SW Dave Brown filled many degree slots with first-timers and they performed splendidly ... and everyone benefited from Ritual Master Jim Wild's practice session before hand. Thank you to all the brothers who stepped up! We're off to a good start on our goal of deepening the Lodge's conferral teams!
BR Joe has been making short work of his proficiencies and so don't be surprised if you see him joining the casts, shortly.
January 8th, 2018 ~ MM56 To Again Lead Sabbar Shrine!
Marion McDaniel has always had a special relationship with Sabbar Shrine and this year is no exception as two of our brothers are in the 2 leadership spots in Sabbar's Divan for 2018.
BR. Joe Talvy is the Potentate and BR Rich Davis, PP is the Chief Rabban for the ensuing year. Former Potentates from MM56 have included Rich Davis, Allen Morgan, Marv Hoffman, PM and Jeff Horton, PM.
In the last six years, MM56 has had 4 Brothers installed as Potentate.
January 2nd, 2018 ~ Gene Via - 50 Year Presentation!
We were pleased to present Brother Herbert Eugene "Gene" Via honored with his 50-year Service Award from the Grand Lodge of Ohio. WM Rod had the privilege of presenting him with a certificate and pin and his wife Jenni was there to affix the pin. Congratulations Brother Gene ... may we all strive to reach 50 years of service!

December 18th, 2017 - FC X 2 / Past Master's Night!
Tonight we welcomed our newest FC Masons, BRs Paul Howe and Joe Felix! It was an, obviously, well attended ceremony as can be seen by this picture with brothers from other local lodges attending. We have your names recorded!
These brothers were passed to the degree of Fellowcraft last night by a very-able team of Past Masters from MM56, led by our venerable Secretary, WB Steve Harrington, PM. Given the combined skill present in this room, it was quite an experience!
Also, a treat that is seldom seen (except around this time of the year), the Band of (Barnes) Brothers made their annual appearance. WBs Frank Sr, Frank Jr, John and Charles, together in one place made this evening even more special.
September 18th, 2017 - BR Josh Sticht - Master Mason Degree!
Our newest Master Mason, BR Josh Sticht (center), who we raised to that Sublime Degree this evening.
(Note, Bro. Josh is in blue. To his immediate left is Bro. James Taylor from Aaron 49 who was raised on Saturday, Sep 16th and made Josh's raising his first visit.)
August 11th, 2016 - WB Jeff Horton was elected Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of AZ. He was put into the Grand Chapter Line by MW Jim Sebastian, who Jeff had hoped would be his installing officer. MW Jim passed away late last year.

July 19th, 2016 - BR Jarred Erman was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason this evening. It was a rare event, by any Lodge's standards, as the degree was conferred by his grandfater, WB (Dr.) Seneca Erman, PM and he was raised and given the Bible Lecture by his father, BR. Russ Erman. Three generations of brothers from Marion McDaniel Lodge.
Many visitors were on hand including brothers from Epes Randolph 32, Oasis 53, Aaron 49, Downtown 86, San Pedro 55 and a few from out of town.

November 23rd, 2015 - Brothers of Marion McDaniel Lodge were invited to visit Laguna Elementary School by Rebecca Delaney Sutka, wife of BR Shayn Sutka. The Lodge has been sponsoring a reading program at the school with one if it's yearly Education Grants. BR Shayn observes a student's progress.
August 22nd, 2015 - WB Jeff Horton (L) was elected Grand King of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Arizona at their 125th Annual Grand Convocation in Tucson. WB Rod Wagoner (R) was re-appointed Grand Lecturer for his 2nd year in that post. (Rod was also appointed Grand Sentinel for both Grand Council and Grand Commandery.)
June 6th, 2015 - WB Gil Schlierer was appointed Very Reverend Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Arizona in Chandler, AZ., at the 133rd Grand Communication.
April 29th, 2015 - Battalion Senior Enlisted Cadet MCPO Mason Craig being presented the Scottish Rite Junior ROTC Award by WB Gil Schlierer, at Cienega High School in Vail, AZ at the school's NJROTC Awards Ceremony.
