Degree 7:00 PM - Refreshments at break
As you surely know by now, our Lodge Building suffered water damage over the July 4th weekend due to a leak in the entryway water fountain. The damage included the finding that some of the original flooring and carpet found in the storage closets and area for our building users contained asbestos. This content met the codes at the time of building but are not in compliance now. Special remediation cleanup has been taken through our building insurer. The building is open again to all normal functions.
The Marion McDaniel Officers applaud and thank all the Brothers of the Lodge (and Pam, Roxie, and Betty of Desert Star #54) for your personal and fraternal donations. Saturday’s (AUG 26) turnout was especially heartwarming with so many pitching in to reset the Lodge room, Dining Room, and Preparation Room. You have helped us become better than before. Our Fraternity truly comes together in time of need!
September Happy Birthdays!

Well to say the least, it has been a summer of excitement! As I’m sure you’re aware, the drinking fountain in the lobby sprung a leak and flooded the entryway, prep room, adjoining closets, and part of the Lodge Room. Thank you Brother Marcos Castro of L & B Plumbing for your quick 20 minute response time and quick repair! If you ever need a plumber he’s the one to call!
When pulling carpet for the drying process, however, asbestos was found and that started a whole new round of tear out, remediation, and repair. While all the repairs have been going on, Pam Horton and Roxie Kasik have been working tirelessly to clean and organize things in the kitchen and lodge and I cannot thank them enough for their efforts. I would also like to thank WB Jeff Horton for his behind the scenes work with the restoration and insurance companies to make sure it all is running smoothly.
In an effort to update the Lodge, the paneling in the lobby has been replaced with drywall and chairs are on order to replace the old theatre chairs (which have been disposed of) with something newer and more comfortable.
As always, I want to send my appreciation to WBS for keeping all tenants of the lodge updated and informed about the repair progress. With all the changes, I look forward to some continued updates to the lodge and making some new Masons!
From the East, Pat

Welcome back, Brothers! Our current Masonic year has passed its meridian height and there's still a lot of work left to do. I want to echo my thanks to those who fixed, restored, cleaned and improved our Lodge so that we might enjoy it for many years to come ... especially WB Jeff, Pam, Roxie and WB Steve! They will not seek our thanks, so make sure to seek them out and convey your thanks to them!
We'll be having BR Josh Sticht's 3rd degree on Mon, Sept. 18th, with BR Dave Brown in the East. I have sent out the cast list to the players and am looking forward to a great evening. There are more degrees [EA & FC] in the pipeline for fall, so be prepared. Those moving up in the Officer’s Line, please be prepared to do the next part above you. Also, we still need brothers to take on charges and Lectures - 3rd degree in particular.
I'm going to make a brief plug for the SE AZ Outdoor Degree on Sept 16 @ 10:00 at John Escapule's Ranch in St. David. $20 pre-register gets you the degree and a great Ribeye Lunch. $25 at the door and no guarantee of lunch. Grand Lodge Officers perform the 2nd section. Details on www.sanpedro55.com.
