I hope all your holidays and observances were kept well. We are blessed in so many ways!
Now, let’s buckle down and get to work. As of Jan 2016, we will have SIX Entered Apprentices who need our Coaching and Mentoring. The best way to start - is to start. Sit next to them, get to know them. We all were in their shoe. This also means we’ll have several FC & MM Degrees this coming year. Brush up and Volunteer!
Here’s a shout out to BR Joe Talvy, home recuperating from major surgery. Wait a time with patience and return!

Happy New Year Brothers!
Well, Brothers, we've made it past the solstice and we're heading into a new year on a somewhat frigid blast of weather which was obviously meant for some less warm and welcoming clime. However, the cold will fade away, our gardens will recover and we will put away our 'real' coats for another year. About that year: before going further, I'd like to thank the Officers for 2016; we had our first meeting and some really great ideas are now being studied and made real. And, speaking of ideas, if you have one - please bring it to myself or any of the officers or speak up about it in Lodge; Masonry thrives when more minds work on the task. As always, I look forward to seeing you at the Stated Meeting!

A new beginning! The New Year is upon us and once again we are offered the opportunity to make or not make a difference in our world and the lives of the people we come into contact and associate with. As I walked out to feed the dog this morning the sun was just starting to peek over the mountains and I took a moment to reflect and enjoy the wonder of the new day. I was reminded of the words, “...the great luminary of creation which arises in the east to open and adorn the day, and all nature rejoicing at the appearance of its beams…” I thought about those brothers we have lost this year and the many lessons I have gathered from them over the years. I realized how many insights, lessons, and knowledge are available from the people around me if I just take the time to stop and listen. I thought about the many changes I have gone through this year and looked forward with excitement and resolve about both the anticipated and unexpected changes that will affect me in the coming year.
Those thoughts quickly turned to my role as a Mason, also. One of the topics I discuss when doing my corporate training is what I refer to as “infectious BS” (Belief System). I work diligently to remain cognizant of the fact that I infect everyone I come into contact with my BS. Depending on where my mind is at in that moment, I will infect them in a positive or negative manner. As a Mason, I believe I have taken an oath to live my life to a higher standard than the profane world around me. Not that I am better than anyone else, but that I am to live my life striving to personify the principles of Freemasonry including brotherly love, relief, and truth.
“You get from Freemasonry just what you put into it” has been said so often that it has become trite; but it is as true now as when it was first uttered. One may draw checks upon a bank only when one has deposited funds. Luckily for us, all the Great Architect so made his children that when the heart is opened to pour out its treasures, it is also open to receive.
I am wishing us all a rich and treasured New Year!

Brothers, we have passed the Winter Solstice and St. John the Evangelist's Day and now start that trek towards longer days, more opportunities to enjoy the replenishing rays of that great Luminary of the Universe and the culmination of our Masonic Year, Grand Lodge Communication and St John the Baptist's Day.
So, there is much work to do. We are going to work towards another Master Builder Award this year. Many of the needed items are done but we will need brothers to help in visitations, attendance at other events, and community work parts of the tasks. Please think about how you might help your Lodge.
Also, congratulations to our new members of Sabbar Shrine's Divan!
See you at Stated Meeting!
