Here we are half way through the year. Our Lodge "bank" needs money so we need volunteers to work at the U of A Football games! And, in August we will need all to re-up on the Fry's program; it's free to sign up and free money to us, so please do so.
Grand Lodge is the first weekend in June and I would like to see as many as possible there. MW Mike Manning is the Grand Master of Masons in Arizona and a member of our lodge, let us give him our support.
Our newest Master Mason, Brother Matthew Hedrick, will be soon ready for his Proficiency, probably at the Stated Meeting. I look forward to it as he and his Coach, BR Tyler Rivas, have done a great job on the previous two degrees.
Saint John the Baptist Day is quickly approaching on June 24th. FYI "The Charter of Cologne says we celebrate, annually, the memory of St John - the forerunner of Christ and the Patron of our community".

Greetings from the West, Brethren. First and foremost, we had a really good Third Degree and one more time I want to thank everyone who came out and did such a superb job as well as to congratulate Brother Matt.
Now, into June after this unusually temperate May and I feel sure that by the solstice Arizona will reassert itself as a state to be reckoned with temperature-wise. I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful summer and, as usual, I hope to see you at the Stated Meeting.

- Junior Warden - 2015 -
I sit down to write this on Memorial Day so let me first and foremost say a most heartfelt thank you to all our Brothers who are serving or have served this great nation in our armed forces.
My oldest daughter is a military widow who still reverently and proudly displays the flag that draped my son-in-law's casket and, as the son of a Purple Heart winner in World War 2, I fully understand the daily sacrifices one and their family takes on by willingness to serve in our military. So again, thank you!
Today also reminds me though to remember not just those who have served in the military, but those who have served mankind. We have lost several good souls from our lodge this year and I remember them. I also pause to remember those people who have taught me lessons in life by both good and bad example. I reflect on those that haysuided, mentored and supported me in life events that have brought me understanding on both significance and folly.
I am further cognizant also of those surrounding me who continue to be teachers in life and share with me one of the most precious of gifts that any of us have. And that gift, my brothers, is their time.
Some of those I have mentioned above only live on in memory. Some still walk among us. Being mindful of all those who have and continue to touch our lives makes us better men.
2015 is flying by, my Brothers, on the swift wings of time. Grand Communication is just a couple of weekends away; one Stated Meeting is left before we go dark, and there are graduations, summer vacations, and travel near and far for many Brothers in the near future.
As the day to day hustle of life envelops us, let us all commit to being mindful of all those around us, especially our Brothers in distress, living our lives towards the goal of hearing, "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
Congratulations, Worthy Matron Pina Talvy (Desert Star #54)
All the Brothers of Marion McDaniel Lodge want to congratulate Pina Talvy on her installation as Worthy Matron of Desert Star #54, O.E.S. and also to Brother Joe Talvy (her husband) as Worthy Patron. Our partnership is in good hands for the coming year!
Remember, YOU Are The Lodge, Bring It Back HOME!
